Our “Under the Influence…Of Great American Songwriters” tour has been in full swing these last few weeks, and the shows just keep on coming. We have been playing at various brew pubs throughout the state, accompanying the cold beer with our music. I’ve gotta say, it’s been a blast so far.
Last Thursday, May 4th, We played an acoustic set at Speedtrap Bistro in Palmer Lake, CO. There was truly no better way to celebrate the warm weather than with some relaxing tunes and good company.
I love playing at breweries not just because of the great beer, but rather the company that spends time in those establishments. When you’re in there, you feel a sense of community: a community of people who are more interested in being entertained and having a good time than partying. However, it’s not just the laid-back atmosphere of families and their pets, nor the great beer that really gets me. What I really love about it is being in the company of fellow craftsman. whether it be the local art on the walls, or even the folks crafting, brewing and serving beer, I feel everyone in those places is their own form of artisan – and that’s a pretty cool thing to be a part. It makes the music more enjoyable to play.
We like to keep our sets interesting, mixing originals in with some cover songs. We’ve been playing a lot of music off After All These Years, but will also be debuting some music that will absolutely become crowd favorites. To jog your memory, in February I invited a few songwriters I had met at the Pigeon Forge Songwriting Retreat last Fall. We gathered again in Nashville for a weekend of music and songwriting. We ended up writing some pretty amazing songs, and three of them will now be incorporated into our sets from now on – I can’t wait for you all to hear them!
As the weather continues to warm up, so will our music. We have a few great shows coming up this month, and we’d love to see you at a few of them! Take a look here:
